Using rich colors, Tricot commits shapes and movements with the duty to express his understanding of people: joy, hunger, stress, nonchalance or hurry – derived from the subtle movements of his subjects rather than their features.  The absence of faces, far from being cowardice, is a deliberate decision reflecting both courage and skill, and invites us into his world. It’s almost impossible not to feel soaked looking at the rain splashing on umbrellas, or the joy and hunger of his subjects as they dig into a plate of pasta on the terrace of a Paris bistro.
